The Portfolio & Program IT Lead works to drive seamless and collective project delivery through holistic portfolio and program management oversight and enablement. Knowing that successful IT delivery relies on effective management, this role will work to create a new standard for IT project management best practices and implement them into all future of pharmaceuticals by enhancing the mechanics needed to create new IT capabilities.


  • Create best-in-class project investments IT capabilities and ensure they are aligned with IT strategy through efficient project portfolio management and governance model (globally and Japan)
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the demand and project capacity process (globally and Japan) in close collaboration with other areas within the IT organization
  • Improved and maintain project management framework, best practice project management capabilities, and supportive tools for project and portfolio management
  • Provide strong, reliable leadership while promoting customer focus, risk decision making, continual improvement and inspection readiness within the IT organization. Manage governance meetings and ensure accurate information is provided to project managers (globally and Japan)


  • Manage portfolio of projects (globally and Japan)- collect data on projects and create and present reports
  • Facilitate demand processes and consolidation of demand input
  • Manage governance processes, including preparing projects for gate approvals
  • Manage overview of consolidated resource demand and capacity
  • Develop training concepts, improve project management best practices, and improve knowledge on Takeda project management framework and governance model
  • Accountable for career development, salary reviews, sourcing, and performance management of all resources in IT Project Management group
  • Research current and future trends within Takeda, Pharmaceutical, and IT organizations to guide future project management processes and governance



  • Bachelor s Degree is required; Graduate degree in relevant field preferred
  • 10+ years experience in IT and Business English environment
  • 5+ years experience in Pharmaceutical industry
