The internship is a paid laboratory position that involves the support of medicinal chemistry projects. Laboratory duties may include: maintenance of analytical equipment, weighing of chemicals for project needs, making solvents, and purification of organic molecules and characterization of key compounds (HPLC, mass spec, NMR). The intern will work closely with an analytical chemist in a pharmaceutical research lab and be mentored as to best assist projects.
Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong interest in chemistry research. Students should be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program working towards a BS degree in Chemistry, and should be authorized for lawful employment in the U.S. College coursework for General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, including accompanying laboratory work, must have been completed.
An internship is available in June of 2018. Length of internship to be discussed with potential intern. Student interns must be able to work part-time (15-20 hours).
This is a paid internship for a 15-20 hour work week.
