Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.

Strategy & Project Management (SPM) is one of the sub-functions within the Vaccine Operations (VO) function of Takeda s Vaccine Business Unit (VBU). SPM is responsible for leading governance, operations management, and strategic projects for VO. The intern will work under the guidance of the SPM team on: 1) project related to digital innovation in manufacturing and / or supply chain and 2) creation of tools and templates to support cross-functional program management for Technical Development teams and drive consistency, standards and a robust community of practice across Programs.

  • Support project on manufacturing and / or supply chain innovation for Takeda s vaccines business
  • Create tools and templates for Technical Development teams working on Takeda s vaccine programs
  • Must be deadline driven and have a high level of organizational and planning skills
  • The ideal candidate exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills; he or she also possesses the ability to work well in teams, effectively manage multiple projects, and present ideas clearly and concisely


  • Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship
  • Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor s degree preferably in an engineering discipline (e.g., chemical, biochemical or industrial engineering) or business administration (preferred concentration but not required: operations or technology management or supply chain) and have completed at least their sophomore year
  • Strong interest in innovation in pharmaceutical industry and manufacturing and supply chain, especially Industry 4.0, and cross-functional product development in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written (including presentations), in a structured, persuasive, and appropriate manner
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional as well as cross-cultural teams, effectively manage multiple projects, and present ideas clearly and concisely
