US-NC, Payroll Accountant Job 491070900A1-MZ


Position Purpose: Provide full scope payroll processing & eTime in an efficient, accurate, & reliable manner. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Responsible for Payroll Accounting General Ledger processes & support reconciliation. Establish, maintain & coordinate payroll internal control procedures. Provide support to other HR initiatives as required.

  • Prepare & coordinate payroll transactions to General Ledger
  • Prepare & administer payroll financial accrual monthly & PTO accrual annually, as assigned
  • Research & investigate Payroll Balance Sheet & Profit & Loss account inquiries, as required
  • Provide support & assistance to Finance & other general accounting functions, as required
  • Maintain systems to provide accurate reporting as required
  • Prepare HR reports to support & comply with government requirements
  • Conduit Internal Quarterly 401(k) audits to reconcile with vendor data
  • Liaison to internal & external financial auditors
  • Provide support & assistance with financial audits
  • Responsible for the monthly anniversary rewards program
  • Support Rewards & Recognition Team to ensure timely 401(k) & HSA funding
  • Responsible for the processing, monitoring, & maintenance of payroll data;
  • Prepare payroll upload & reports, as needed;
  • Responsible for employee garnishments, fringes & payments (other than expense reports)
  • Responsible for payroll systems (eTime, & ADP);
  • Prepare expatriate pay calculations & monitor net pay calculations each pay period;
  • Ensure proper programming of payroll system for special calculations & compliance;
  • Timely follow through on payroll inquiries;
  • Prepare payroll input & reconciliation for company government grants & incentives reporting;
  • Accurate 401(k) & benefit data as it relates to payroll; &
  • Serves as conduit/liaison to internal Workers Compensation Payroll Audit.
  • Conduct training on HR systems/payroll practices to others as required
  • Prepare materials & participate in new hire orientation
  • Responsible for absenteeism/absence reporting
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable federal, state & local laws
  • Support cross-functional team within P&O & other departments as required
  • Other accountabilities/projects as assigned in support of P&O Department

Required Education: BS/BA in Accounting/Finance, or combination of equivalent education & experience.

Required Experience: 2-4 years financial accounting or equivalent experience

Desired Experience:
  • SAP & SAP/HR system experience
  • Prior experience in HR environment a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • ADP eTime System
  • Payroll Experience, 2+ years
  • Automatic Data Processing (ADP) system –Workforce Now preferred
  • ADP Reporting (WFN)
  • Multistate Payroll
