Establish Medical Affairs Excellence Strategy across Oncology Medical Affairs Worldwide by building and leading a Medical Affairs functional Training Academy model. Provide direction and alignment for Medical Affairs function-specific learning by driving learning strategy and plans to deliver learning solutions. Substantially enhance people skills and capabilities resulting in enhanced Medical Affairs performance and achieving business goals and strategic objectives. Drive the use of novel learning methods and technology to transform the way Medical Affairs associates learn for better learning outcomes.
1.Develop long term medical excellence strategy and capability building implications by designing capability building approach and lead implementation. Drive innovation on new delivery models and coordinate stakeholder landscape around the new solutions
2.Design and conduct company-wide baseline assessment of Medical Affairs capabilities and identify gaps. Support interpretation of results and synthesis of conclusions including implications for current capability building programs
3.Develop strategy and implementation plans to address current and future gaps in management and leadership capabilities based on short and long term strategic objectives;
4.Develop and lead the strategy, planning, and execution for leadership and management development programs and mentoring experiences across OMA;
5.Drive selection of learning and development delivery approaches that ensure content is delivered with high impact in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to diverse global audiences. Continuously improve and build upon new ways to deliver value-added learning solutions through appropriate use of different channels such as high-impact leadership development programs, instructor-led professional development workshops, and on-demand and online learning resources
6.Develop and implement innovative capability building solutions outside of traditional classroom and e-learning.
7.Lead, develop, implement, and monitor learning solutions and programs (e.g. Medical Affairs Training Academy) for Oncology Medical Affairs. Partner with key functions (i.e Global Governance Office, MBO Governance, Clinical Operations, Scientific External Communications, Medical Franchises, Regional Heads and GDD) to identify gaps and capabilities needs of Medical Affairs Organization
8.Partner with internal and external experts to develop training programs to ensure Medical Affairs associates have the precise and relevant functional training programs to be successful. Develop learning journeys and content for trainings by connecting with solution designers on delivery model and Implement feedback and update content according to needs
9.In partnership with GMALT and OMLT, build and lead G/R/L networks of Medical Affairs professionals to establish a Center Of Excellence for Medical Affairs Learning
10.Run pilot(s) to test newly developed program(s) and delivery model(s) to support broad roll-out and implementation. Conduct train the trainer programs as required to enable the organization for sustainable program delivery
11.Drive alignment of strategic and operational aspects of learning across Medical Affairs Function and with related training groups (e.g. , DLO, NBS, CBA, Pharma, DQT) to ensure ease of use for learners, optimal deployment of resources and highest possible learning impact across the organization (strategic capability needs, process, delivery, etc.).
12.Provide and ensure world-class learning process and methodologies across the organization, in line with internal and external best practice across all industries and aligned to internal existing and emerging operating models.
13.Represent Oncology Medical Affairs learning needs at the Development, Pharma and Group level, advocating Oncology Medical Affairs interests and needs, and influencing the Training & Learning direction at Novartis. Align the other functional model and structure to maximize resource efficiency.

University degree in social science, business degree or equivalent management experience.
Further Education in e.g. Educational Sciences, Change Management, Project Management, Coaching
Minimum 8+ years in the field of, employee development / learning / education
Direct Medical Affairs experience preferred
Track record of introducing novel learning methods and use of technology and transforming learning within organizations
Strong consulting, facilitation, and communication skills
Ability to effectively interact with Senior Management
Capability to operate and implement in a matrix organization, with and without direct supervisory control.
