This role is responsible for designing, developing, and conducting innovative and interactive instructor-led and eLearning solutions for Account Managers across all divisions, including the Patient Access and Health Policy team.
This trainer manager will lead the skill and competency needs assessment to provide robust, impactful training that tangibly improves the effectiveness of the Account Managers. The Associate Director of Account Management Training will partner with the various Heads of Account Management, Training Leads, Training Business Partners, Market Access Leads, Patient Access and Health Policy Leadership, and external vendor SME s in the implementation of learning solutions.
Lead the design, development and implementation of Managed Markets Training Strategy and curriculum.
Lead the design and implementation of Account Manager Onboarding and Advanced Skills training
Educate HQ and field associates on market access and reimbursement process, including potential challenges with third-party payers
Embed managed markets training into new hire curriculum (Sales Specialists, Account Managers, ABL s)
Maintain superior knowledge of key managed markets customers, including payers, PBM s, specialty pharmacies, Systems of Care, Medicaid and Medicare.
Partner with PA & HP on all product launches to design and develop customized managed care training workshops for the brand, along with any required testing and/or certification
Collaborate with HQ Training, Managed Markets Leads, Curriculum Manager, external suppliers/SMEs, and key franchise functions (e.g. legal/compliance, sales, marketing, HR) in the development of training materials that reflect the needs of the evolving business
Ensure cross-functional input is integrated and aligned in the strategy, tactics, and investments of the plan.
Ensure curriculum is designed to accommodate progressive learning from fundamental through thought leader.
Conduct on-going needs analysis (customer feedback, field interactions, SMEs, etc.) and leverage results to inform/adjust training strategy and curriculum as needed.
Ensure all curricula are properly maintained and valid per Novartis policies and guidelines.
Lead key initiatives impacting training curriculum and management including the appropriate transformation of live training to a virtual platform. Ensure quality delivery of training by partnering with Heads of Account Management and PA & HP leadership to develop and pull through training strategy using a variety of tactics (coaching, live and virtual facilitation, Train the Trainers, Peer-based teaching, etc.) and technologies.

5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including sales leadership.
2+ years of Account Management experience.
Possess a strong understanding of market access and healthcare industry trends
Training & Development experience a plus
Strong Project management experience
Success in leading cross-functional teams
Strong Communication (oral/written) & Interpersonal skills
Administrative management skills - planning, organization, operational decision making and analysis.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and be accountable for individual & department results
Demonstrated experience in working with others in a matrix environment to achieve organizational objectives including the ability to anticipate and adapt, own and or/work group tactics to support changing business needs
