THIS IS A FIELD BASED MARKETING ROLE, THE APPLICANT CAN LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WESTERN UNITED STATES.
The Lung Cancer Regional Marketer is a commercial field-based member of the Lung Brand Team. The Lung Cancer Regional Marketer is responsible for engaging lung Medical Experts and for sharing brand strategy and gaining expert insights in an effort to improve brand strategy for the brand team. There is an assigned geography (Western United States, predominant areas are , CA., OR. , WA., UT.,CO.,AZ.,TX.,NE., KS.) but the role also has some national travel required to fulfill the function. This person works closely with Brand team colleagues as well as with Sales, Training and other key stakeholders. The Lung Cancer Regional Marketer would support the Brand team on marketing projects requiring involvement from Medical Experts and would be fully accountable for a few identified marketing projects.
This individual will not have direct reports. However, this individual will need to exercise cross-functional leadership skills in working with the various stakeholders particularly with Brand and Sales.
Work with Brand, Sales Leadership, Strategy & Business Development and Medical to identify target lung Medical Experts
Engage with these Medical Experts, in a commercial capacity, on an ongoing basis
Plan and track Medical Expert engagements across the commercial organization
Act as a primary point of contact for Medical Experts with the commercial side of the Novartis organization
Share Medical Expert insights with field-based teams to support their development of account-specific strategies
Maintain a thorough understanding of brand strategy and key business drivers
Attend local, regional and national medical meetings where lung content is being presented
Support the Brand team on marketing projects involving input from Medical Experts
Support the Brand team on peer to peer initiatives including identification of speakers, assessment and development of speakers and creation of speaker decks in accordance with policy
Lead a few identified marketing projects
Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as requested
50-60% business travel required including weekend travel.

Education: BA/BS required; advanced degree (PhD, MBA, MS,BSN, Pharm.D., MD) preferred
Experience/Professional Requirement: Pharmaceutical sales experience required; Medical Science Liaison Experience, Hospital, Specialty Sales or 3+ years of sales management or account management preferred
5+ years of Oncology experience preferred, in the lung cancer space or solid tumor experience preferred
Experience engaging with Medical Experts required
